A very lovely view can be had from here of St Michael's Mount. Accessible during mid to low tide, it is a beautiful place to visit via its granite causeway. Go and see this iconic rocky island crowned by a medieval church and castle. One of the 43 unbridged islands in the UK that is accessible by foot.

This wide open road provides exceptional views of the stunning Cornish coastline. The road travels along the entire Cornwall National Landscape and is highly regarded by cyclists as an excellent place to ride.

Lanyon Quoit is a Neolithic dolmen. That said, it collapsed in a storm in 1815 and was re-erected nine years later, it is thought that it is now different from its original appearance. The granite capstone weighs more than 12 tons. The quoit stands at the north end of a long barrow, but the barrow has been damaged and is often overgrown and difficult to see.

St Just is a great place to start a run to the coast. You can catch the bus here, or there is plenty of parking, or why not make it your base for exploring the most westerly part of Cornwall. Not only do you get to enjoy the stunning south west coast path, but also some of the most picturesque reminders of Cornwall's tin mining industry. After your run, be sure to pop into the butchers to pick up one of their exceptional pasties or try The Commercial for dinner or fish and chips in the square.

Lanyon Quoit is one of Cornwall's best known prehistoric monuments and stands just east of the road from Trevowhan to Madron. Originally built in the neolithic period (3500-2500 BCE), the quoit would have been made up of 4 upright stones. Sadly, due to storm damage, it had to be re-erected in the 19th century and now consists of three granite pillars (1.5m in height) which support a large slab capstone.

A great place to start & finish end to end ride.

Needs very little explanation: the most southwesterly tip of mainland England, Land's End. This is a mecca for endurance challenges such as Land's End to John o'Groats, for both cyclists and hikers, as well as a popular tourist destination. The best way to ride to Land's End is via the Cornish Way cycle route from Sennen, which is a well laid and traffic free gravel track over the clifftops.

This barometer was originally loaned to Mousehole by Admiral Fitzroy, the founder of the Meteorological Institute. The intention was to provide data to the institute to improve weather forecasting and storm forecasting.
