St. Michael's Mount can be seen in the distance. It's actually a nice place for a short break, but unfortunately there are no benches or anything similar here.

A very lovely view can be had from here of St Michael's Mount. Accessible during mid to low tide, it is a beautiful place to visit via its granite causeway. Go and see this iconic rocky island crowned by a medieval church and castle. One of the 43 unbridged islands in the UK that is accessible by foot.

The path given to follow on the first off-road section is supposed to fork right halfway along. It doesn't! If it is supposed to, it is no longer visible and the area is covered in gorse bushes. The path you take all the way is tricky to ride, having very deep/invisible ruts on either side, so if you get it a few inches wrong, you'll be stopping - very quickly! I'm an intermediate rider and rode half of it and pushed the rest. Still a vaey enjoyable overall ride which we have now done twice and moreconfidently the second time!

If asked where a famous island was dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, most people would probably answer the internationally renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mont Saint-Michel in France, located off the coast of the English Channel on the border between Normandy and Brittany. But even here in southwest England – beyond the European mainland, off the British Isles – a "St. Michael's Mount" can be found.

Insane views and flat out XC fun. Some tasty climbs and steep loose descents
