Truthall Halt on the Helston branch was opened on 3 July 1905. It's now the terminus of the volunteer run Helston Railway. Well worth a trip, especially with the kids :)

Argal Reservoir is a popular fishing area, known as one of the best in the South West. It is also a popular area for walking and is overlooked by Mabe Church. There is a café at the reservoir plus public toilets, but swimming and watersports are not permitted.

Glendurgan Garden is a subtropical garden and wooded valley leading to the Helford River. The garden is full of native and exotic plants, which thrive in the mild climate and sheltered position. The cherry laurel maze is a great place for kids and adults. The gardens are now owned by the National Trust. Facilities include parking, a tearoom, toilets and a book shop.

For those interested in history and technology, there is the Marconi Center about 300 meters above. From a radio station located there, Marconi succeeded in 1901 in establishing the first radio connection to Newfoundland.

Gweek Village Stores is a super friendly and well stocked shop. From delicious cakes to pies, pasties and hot drinks it's a great place to stock up. Also a great place to pick up an ice cream to sit and enjoy by the river.

Poldhu Cove, also known as Black Pool Cove, is a beautiful west-facing sandy beach suitable for a range of fun activities from sandcastle building to beach volleyball and rocks to explore at low tide and great for swimming, surfing and windsurfing ( in the designated area).

As Maenporth is an east facing beach it is sheltered and with shallow water it is very popular with families. Behind the beach is a wetland, home to a variety of bird and wildlife. There is a beach cafe and remains of a shipwrecked trawler, Ben Asdale, are visible when the tide is out. She succumbed to the rocks on a stormy, snowy November night in 1978. 11 crewman were saved in treacherous conditions but tragically three died. It is possible to scramble across the rocks for a better view of her remains.

Coverack is a picturesque village with a harbour and beach offering plenty of choice of refreshments from cafes, restaurants and a pub. As Coverack is on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula, the beach is generally very sheltered. Although there are 150 shipwrecks just off the coast due to a section of hidden rocks called the Manacles.

The Lizard NNR is one of the largest nature reserves in the South West. The reserve itself reaches across to Mullion Cove to near Coverack. Over 250 species of national and international importance are found here such as the dwarf rush and wild asparagus. This area of Heathland boasts a carpet of orchids and violets in the early summer and gorse and heather by late summer.

Excellent cafe. Stopped here in late May 2022 doing WKW. Food was delicious. Definitely highly recommended.

What a brilliant cafe just north of Constantine, and right on the West Kernow Way bikepacking route. Expect delicious coffee and generous brunches, catering for all tastes. The breakfast hash and vegan hash both come highly recommended!

This is a delightful tiny cafe on an equally delightful beach. Serves a variety of meals and hot drinks. Very popular with the locals. Highly recommended.
