To get from one bit of road to the other is a very rough path and touring with heavy e bikes makes it very difficult to to push up a part bit. Possible but be warned !

Nice quiet route with some stunning scenery.

In Gerrans Bay sits the fishing village of Portscatho. As its east facing, it's a sheltered spot, perfect for a post run swim.

The three white houses on Chapel Point were built in the 1930s and feature in Daphne Du Maurier's novel 'The House on the Strand'.

Portmellon is a very small village and cove. The road closely hugs the sandy beach, which is completely covered by the sea at high tide. There is a snack shack in the beach carpark and a pub next door if you are in need of sustenance. If you approach Portmellon from the South West you will see the 'Beware Waves' sign on your left. Take heed on stormy days as the waves crash right over the road and can even hit the houses.

There is plenty of trail running from Gorran Haven in both directions, including circular routes. The fishing village has a few shops and a picturesque harbour and makes a great start/finish point or stopover on a longer run.

Owned by the National Trust, Carne Beach is easily accessible from the road and footpath (no steps). There are toilets here as well as a coffee shack and a big car park, plus an easy walk up to Nare Head in the east on the coast path.

St Anthony Head at the tip of the Roseland Peninsula commands amazing views over the channel and the Fal estuary. You can see why it's been used as a beacon and military instillation over the years. The coast path runs in both directions from here on wonderful, mainly single track coastal trails.

Towan Beach is a wonderful sandy crescent accessed by a short path from Porth Farm or on the coast path. The Thirst Tea van awaits at Porth Farm serving a nice selection of cakes and drinks from a converted vintage Citroen van.

The coast between St Austell and Pentewan is rugged and glorious. There are some stiff climbs and descents but the views are worth it. It makes you feel a million miles away from busy St Austell.

Set on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula, Carne Beach is large and sandy with toilets, parking and a cafe. It forms part of a National Trust area.

Lovely coffee and cake. Beautiful views and tucked away. the perfect place to stop and refuel.

Found tucked away along the coast path, the Hidden Hut is a lovely place to refuel and enjoy some sea views. The food here is absolutely delicious - they have great vegan options (including cake!), too! Well worth a visit. http://www.hiddenhut.co.uk/
