A very lovely view can be had from here of St Michael's Mount. Accessible during mid to low tide, it is a beautiful place to visit via its granite causeway. Go and see this iconic rocky island crowned by a medieval church and castle. One of the 43 unbridged islands in the UK that is accessible by foot.

Great coffee, great cake, great staff

If asked where a famous island was dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, most people would probably answer the internationally renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mont Saint-Michel in France, located off the coast of the English Channel on the border between Normandy and Brittany. But even here in southwest England – beyond the European mainland, off the British Isles – a "St. Michael's Mount" can be found.

There is a ferry from the harbor to the Scilly Islands, which are a must-see. Otherwise there is a nice promenade.

This traffic-free cycleway is also part of the South West Coast Path. It makes for a great seafront run without the climbing that comes with a lot of the coastal running in Cornwall. The views across Mounts Bay towards Marazion, St Michael's Mount and to Penzance are beautiful.

On 19th December 1981 a grave tragedy hit the small village of Mousehole. The Union Star, on its way from The Netherlands to Ireland, was being blown towards the treacherous Cornish coast on an incredibly stormy night. The Solomon Browne, Penlee's lifeboat, went out to rescue the crew of the Union Star but all attempts failed and the Solomon Browne was lost as well as the Union Star. All eight members of the lifeboat crew died and it is a loss that is still felt very keenly in Mousehole. Everyone in the small community was affected by the disaster.

Newlyn Harbour is one of the biggest fishing ports in the UK. It is also a popular place to moor yachts and pleasure crafts. It is bustling with pubs and restaurants, you might say that you won't find fresher fish than here.
