Before World War II, there was a parachute tower here. In the 1930s, it was transformed into a 36-meter-high observation tower. In 1963, a 228-meter-high steel spire was erected in its place, on which radio and television transmitting antennas were installed. In later years, an additional parabolic antenna was added, raising the mast by another 25 meters. In 1985, a new mast was erected, with a height of 267 meters - including the antenna. Four years later, in 1989, the old mast was dismantled to a height of 61 meters.

Two shelters and a place for a bonfire next to the gas thrower called "Heart of the Forest". Easy access by car means that on nice days there are always a lot of people here.

The Szczecin Landscape Park "Puszcza Bukowa" covers an area of about 15 km in length and 10 km in width, stretching along the southern borders of Szczecin, all the way to the Płonia River in the east. Most of this area is occupied by the Bukowe Hills covered with the Bukowa Forest. The northern and central part of the forest is the most elevated and undulating, with a varied terrain, with high and steep hills cut by ravines and valleys through which forest rivers and streams flow. The flora of the Bukowa Forest includes about 1,250 species of plants, including 53 species under full protection. In the forest we can also find about 140 species of birds, a dozen or so species of mammals and several species of reptiles. Among the birds we can meet the black stork, white-tailed eagle, lesser spotted eagle and red kite. There is also a very rich butterfly fauna, about 400 species.

The reserve is located on the slopes of moraine hills, diversified by ravines, streams and springs. The Utrata stream flows through this area, which appears or disappears from the surface. The aim of the protection is to preserve the Pomeranian beech forest in various typological varieties with rich associations of herbaceous plants in the ground cover. The beeches, over a hundred years old, reach a height of up to 40 m. Rare and endangered plants occur here, including forest fescue, empty corydalis, pearlwort, spearwort and common bedstraw. Among the protected plants, there are, for example, broadleaf helleborine, blue helleborine, guelder rose, common buckthorn and sweet woodruff. The bottom of the ravine is occupied by spring beech forest. The reserve is named after Józef Lewandowski, an outstanding forester and pioneer in the development of the forests of Western Pomerania. The erratic boulder with a plaque commemorating this distinguished forest man is located in the southeastern part of the reserve, at the intersection of the roads from Szczecin-Śmierdnica and Kołów. For those who want to get to know the landscape of Kołowskie Parowy better, there are two hiking trails available. The Stanisław Pawelski Red Trail leads from Szczecin Kijewo to Glinna. The Stanisław Groński Blue Trail leads from Szczecin Zdroje to Zdunów.
