The Church of El Salvador in Nerja is one of the most emblematic monuments in the historic center, located next to the Balcón de Europa and Plaza Cavana. This church is an architectural gem that combines Baroque and Neoclassical styles, with Mudéjar details in the coffered ceiling. Its construction began in 1697, and the bell tower was added in 1724. The interior is notable for its three naves separated by semicircular arches, a hemispherical dome at the crossing, and Baroque altarpieces with sculptures of great artistic value. It houses unique representations of the three archangels, with Saint Michael being the patron saint of Nerja.

A very nice place

Nerja Town Hall (Ayuntamiento de Nerja) is located on Plaza de España, near the Balcón de Europa. The whitewashed, Andalusian-style building perfectly complements the town's charm. Flowers and flags are often found outside the entrance, and the square in front is a pleasant meeting place.

The Church of El Salvador (Iglesia de El Salvador) in Nerja is a historically and architecturally significant building in the town center. Originally built in 1505 in the Mudéjar style, it was later expanded in the 18th century. The interior features beautiful Mudéjar timber construction and elegant vaults. The church is located between the Balcón de Europa and Plaza Cavana, close to the beach.

Frigiliana is a beautiful town that you can cycle through early in the morning, before the numerous tourists who visit it invade. It's definitely worth it, especially if you do it as the start of a route like a Frigiliana-Competa circular route, as I did.
