There's a large free parking lot along the road. From here, you can hike along the left branch of the Rhine Delta through the nature reserve to the end. There, you can have a lovely picnic and enjoy the view of Lindau's German promenade skyline. On the way there or back, we recommend taking a detour along the lagoon circular hiking trail. The trail is also accessible by mountain bike or bicycle (with wider tread). The trail is gently to coarsely graveled throughout.

The Glashaus is a wonderful restaurant with reasonable prices. We visited it after a long hike on the western Rhine dam and after walking around the lagoon.

On the border with Switzerland, the Rheinspitz, or the tip of the Rhine in French, offers a beautiful view of Lake Constance. This strip of land is a beautiful place to walk while observing the lake's wildlife.

Standing on the bank of the Old Rhine on the edge of the Rheinholz Forest you can spot a wealth of different bird species. Colonies land on the islands to breed. An informamtion board will help you identify the different species.

The Rhine Delta is a characteristic marsh landscape. The area includes the mouth of the Rhine into Lake Constance, the largest freshwater delta in Europe. The Old Rhine forms the western border, and the area is bordered in the east by the Dornbirner Ache.
