Arenfels Castle, formerly also called Arienfels Castle, is a castle complex above Bad Hönningen in Rhineland-Palatinate, which dates back to a medieval castle from the 13th century. The castle acquired its present external appearance between 1849 and 1855, during which time it was extensively remodeled in the Neo-Gothic style under the direction of Cologne Cathedral architect Ernst Friedrich Zwirner. Due to its 365 windows, 52 doors, and 12 towers, it was nicknamed "Castle of the Year."

There are two train stations in Brohl: one operated by Deutsche Bahn (German Railways) and, just above, the Brohltalbahn (Brohl Valley Railway). This station is (as of July 25) somewhat difficult to reach due to construction work on the station forecourt (between the two stations). By bike, you would have to climb a flight of stairs from here (very difficult), but you can also access the station via the depot (at the engine shed).
