The Yalde Reservoir is located on the outskirts of Castroviejo. Built over the course of the Yalde River, a tributary of the Najerilla, the reservoir regulates river flow and supplies water to 11 municipalities located in the course.

In Nájera they have known how to take advantage of the banks of the Najerilla river to make large green areas that cross the town and fill with life in good weather. The monastery of "Santa Maria la Real" is on stage 9 of the French Way from Najera to Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Founded in the middle of the 16th century by Doña Aldonza Manrique de Lara, daughter of the Dukes of Nájera, and currently inhabited by the Clarisas Franciscan Sisters. Visits from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (every day but only the church).

Some monasteries have grown over the centuries. This is owned by Clarisas nuns and was founded in the middle of the 16th century by a daughter of the Dukes of Nájera.
