It was originally built as a manor house for a noble estate and is often referred to as a castle due to its castle-like appearance. The manor has a varied history with various uses, including a hotel until 2020 and a private clinic starting in 2023.

It's no longer worth a visit, as the castle can only be viewed from a distance through the fence. The gardens are also no longer open to visitors.

I wouldn't drive through Kaki from HU, there's almost no cycle path, only after HU and it's bad. HU- Kattendorf- Oersdorf - then you come out of Kaki at the end. Otherwise very nice. I know parts, I'll drive it soon.

The Hofcafe in Groß Niendorf is worth a visit. Very attractive indoor and outdoor area. Good cake at reasonable prices.🧀

Currently (08/2023) this bridge is not passable due to construction work, not even on foot. As an alternative, there is a parallel gravel path on the western side of Sülfeld: https://www.komoot.de/highlight/934417

Admittedly this is formal on a country road, but there's always kind of almost no traffic here! The track is super paved and has kinks, trees and beautiful views on every side! Certainly not THE beauty, but nice to ride, especially on a road bike or gravel.
