It is part of the Viscounty of Cabrera. In the religious sphere, This church in Sils is mentioned in 1185 in a papal bull of Pope Lucius III, included among its possessions... Like the Monastery of Sant Salvador de Breda. The Church of Santa María de Sils was renovated in the 18th century in the neoclassical Baroque style. The last major restoration was of its bell tower in 1907, by the Girona architect Rafael Masó.

A canal that crosses the center of Sils and that passes through its wetlands and where it goes in a southerly direction, towards Hostalric. The footbridge that helps to cross the stream is located a few meters from the church in the center itself.

Area of wetlands that had been dried up in the last century and have now recovered as they are an incredible green area!

Just behind the Church there is a fountain with drinking water.

Away from traffic in beautiful nature. Good bike lane.
