The taxi still costs €51, and they're already waiting there. With four passengers, you can split the price accordingly, so it's worth the wait. The climb without a taxi takes about 2.5 hours. I'm glad I took the taxi.

Restaurant was renovated in 2024 by new owner and has become a vegetarian restaurant. Mainly Italian dishes. Tastes delicious and a lot of use of local ingredients.

The "Llano Negro" climb leads from the coastal town of Santo Domingo 8 kilometers uphill to LP-1. Once you reach the top you also have the opportunity to get some food, as there is a supermarket and a gas station with a snack restaurant there. The pass itself is pleasant to drive at 6.8 percent; you will climb 688 meters here. The road is in great condition. In addition, you don't have to worry about much traffic here. The vegetation on the climb is relatively similar from bottom to top; at first you will pass individual houses directly on the road. At the top there are always vantage points on the side of the road where you can pause. The entire pass is relatively open and unforested, making it very vulnerable to wind on stormy days. This can be a bit uncomfortable, especially in the last stretch, on the long straight if there is a headwind. Once you have reached the top, you have the decision to continue towards the Roque de los Muchachos, or you can take the route towards Roque del Faro and thus towards the north of the island.

In Tazacorte there is a harbor, a long beach for the island and lots of bananas. The place is 100 meters above sea level and the view over the banana plantations is legendary. This is also where La Palma has the most hours of sunshine. The festival that takes place every year in September is also legendary - a feast for all the senses.

Excellent outdoor atmosphere, a good place to eat some tapas and their specialties of fish dishes of the day with accompaniments. I deal to consume drinks or just have a coffee watching the sunset. It is well located on the main avenue of Tijarafe, although a little inconvenient to get positions, but it is usually possible. A good place to visit if you are passing through Tijarafe. Frequented by locals and open at noon until after 12 noon. It has a giant TV screen to watch football and you can't miss the Mascot, a huge Papagallo that is usually there midday if the weather is good. For me the place where I have the best dinner.
