These old beeches and oaks line the hiking trail into the Brachenfelder Grove to Dosenbek

From this dirt road on the edge of the forest, you have a wonderful view over the fields to the southeast. Every now and then, huge oak trees are scattered in the silhouette.

The Predigerau runs between the field path and the Bokhorst. Here it has a lively, winding course. A bridge that is increasingly crumbling marks an old crossing into the forest. Strange: At this landmark, a 5 m high cross stands crookedly in the forest.

The old paper mill on the dammed Stör between Neumünster and Groß Kummerfeld is a cultural monument of the municipality of Groß Kummerfeld. The private property is fenced in and can only be viewed from publicly accessible paths. The crossing over the weir in the Stör is not open to the public.

Here the sturgeon divides into a short piece and forms a small island.

The Flaschenbek drains the moor 4 km to the north. It flows into the Schwale, which then flows through Neumünster.

The hornbeam avenue for cyclists and pedestrians leads over the Schwale to the fallow woods. This is where the Flaschenbek, which drains the moor 4km further north, flows out.

Insider tip: A Lost-Place section of track with a bridge section over the Flaschenbek is a great, hidden picnic spot.
