This chapel, like many others in France bearing the title "Notre Dame" ("Our Lady"), is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The addition of "de-l'Annonciation" to the patronal title refers to the Feast of the Annunciation (celebrated on March 25th, exactly nine months before Christmas). This is when the angel of the Lord brought her the message that she would give birth to the Son of God – Jesus Christ. According to the account in the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke, this took place in Nazareth, Israel. Beautiful hidden lake on the outskirts of Taninges

This bridge was the only one to allow the crossing of the Arve until the construction of the Pont Neuf in 1850. The first Pont Vieux was built at the time of the Romans and then rebuilt in the Middle Ages. The current bridge was built in 1674 and restored in 1833. An inscription engraved in the stone mentions the name of the architect

The Chartreuse de Mélan is a former monastery belonging to the Carthusian order, located in the commune of Taninges in Haute-Savoie, in the department of Haute-Savoie, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The charterhouse received nuns. It was then transformed into a small seminary, then into a departmental orphanage. It now hosts a departmental cultural center. The Chartreuse was classified as a historic monument in 1911.
