Place of rest

The bunker is a modified Type 123 B-8 standard bunker for an open artillery observer, built between 1935 and 1936 and part of the West Wall/Ettlingen Barrier. The bunker is located about 10-15 meters off the path, but can be seen from the path, at least in winter and spring, if you look carefully.

Until the 1980s, people drove there in droves with canisters to fill up the water, which was said to have healing powers. Until one day, it was discovered that certain pollutant limits had been exceeded. Since then, the sign "Not Drinking" has been emblazoned in bold, and car traffic has been banned. In summer, however, the sparsely dripping spring is no longer particularly inviting for drinking. In spring, however, the spring bubbles as it once did, and when the daffodils bloom, the facility is quite pretty to look at.
