The monument, created by the Dresden sculptors Köppl and Polte, was originally intended to be erected in May 1913 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the city fire. However, at the beginning of the First World War, such idyllic times were out of the question, and it was entirely out of place. On the globe stands the Tree of Life, bearing golden fruit. From the front, the church looks like a fortress. For this sparsely populated area, this church—like many others—is far too large for the village.

An area with a great many wayside crosses, which are particularly noteworthy here. A lovely little village.

The Wendish Tower, or Serbska wěža in Sorbian, is part of Bautzen's medieval city fortifications. It is located on the northeastern edge of the old town and is now structurally connected to Gottfried Semper's Old Barracks (Stara kaserna).
