Very beautiful port, very touristy

A renowned marina and seaside resort, Capbreton combines the joys of the beach and relaxation with the pleasures of surfing and sailing. A destination on the Landes Atlantic coast, popular for its eight fine sandy beaches, its fishing and marina port, its sailing and surfing schools, its shops, and its summer atmosphere. A symbol of the seaside town, the long wooden jetty, located at the entrance to the port, enchants walkers and anglers alike. An ideal place to recharge your batteries and treat yourself to a seaside break. Facing the jetty and the ocean, the Aquacéo center is an aquatic fitness center with indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzis, swan necks, sauna, hammam, and beauty-massage spa.

Be careful, there are lots of sandy paths.

Beware of the sands!

The patronage of this church, "Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption," refers to one of the many memorial days or feast days in honor of the Mother of God, Mary. This dates back to the feast of her bodily assumption into heaven. The (Catholic) church celebrates this feast every year on August 15th. In Orthodox churches, the feast is called the "Dormition of the Virgin Mary." In rural areas with a predominantly Catholic population, it used to be customary for the population to collect bundles of herbs on this special day and to bless them in a festive service. In isolated cases, this old custom has survived to the present day.

Urt is already Basque land. The Church is dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta.
