If the temperature allows it (in July it should be perfect) a dip in the lake is a fantastic emotion! The water is chilly (4 or 5°) but after the effort made to climb it gives a crazy charge!

Once you have passed the dam, you are under the illusion that you are almost there and instead....we are only halfway up the slope!

It is worth taking a walk to this beautiful lake! The hike is not for experts, but there are a couple of steep inclines that you have to be used to walking to get up. It is important to bring food and water because there are no restaurants there. The scenery is great!

Splendid valley but climb it is not to be underestimated, between Noasca and the Serrù dam it is quite demanding. On Sundays in July and August from the Serrù al Colle dam the road is closed to motor vehicles and cycling is much more enjoyable.

Leave performance anxiety aside and take a few stops to enjoy the surrounding panorama: the Colle del Nivolet is one of the most panoramic climbs in the Alps. The final hairpin bends overlooking the lakes are truly special.

The hard climb is greatly alleviated by the fantastic views that open up to your eyes, or to the sight and company of marmots, numerous and much more "sociable" than in other places.

The Chevril Dam lake, or Tignes, is decorated with a very pretty statue by the Italian artist Livio Benedetti, named "The Lady of the Lake". The sculpture is located between the banks and the road, therefore easily accessible to be admired. Another work of art is located on the dam itself and therefore more difficult to see. It is a gigantic wall fresco representing Hercules who seems to be holding back water by his sole force. It is the highest French dam. It supplies two hydroelectric power stations.

Starting from Villa Poma, on the opposite side of the Ceresole lake, the path begins which also leads to the Dres lake, in about 2 hours. The route is easy and suitable for everyone. Arriving at the lake, I recommend that you pay attention to where you walk because the area is swampy
