Very little used pass road, because no real pass. After about 2km the paved road stops on the other side. From Cuorgnè you can enjoy the beautiful nature undisturbed. A highlight is also the 3.5km long tunnel behind Noasca, which is almost alone.

The 3.5 km long tunnel can now be bypassed on the old road. The road was repaired for the Giro d'Italia 2019 and freshly asphalted. The entrance to this bypass is not signaled (as of June 2019), but it is easy to find on both sides just before the entrance to the tunnel.

We have climbed the pass twice with the racing bike. In Le Pont, accessible via Aosta, there is a wonderful hotel with a great restaurant, which can be reached from Martigny in one day. Nivolet was one my "must", I was a bit nervous because everyone told me it was hard, but no one has found the right words to tell me that it is just breathtaking. The last 10 km are so beautiful that I felt I could cry, not because of the fatigue but because of the feeling of the mountain gorgeousness that surrounds you from the ground to the sky with its full power. Unfortunately even though with the project “Walking in the clouds” the Park promotes gentle mobility, regulating the private car traffic during summer along the street that leads to the Nivolet col, too many tourists disrespectful of the regulation drive up to the top.

Simply the most spectacular port in the Alps! It is beautiful, long, hard, high, inhospitable, with lakes and rivers, spectacular horseshoes, serpentine roads, panoramic views of peaks and valleys, tranquility. Surely there are many other ports that are great, but in my opinion, none like this one. You just have to enjoy it!!!!
