Mont Canisy is a prominent hill on the Côte Fleurie in Normandy, about 4 km southwest of Deauville, France. At approximately 110 meters high, the hill offers impressive panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding countryside.

There are really 140 steps - we counted them 😉

Nice cozy and small seaside resort with shops that all run towards the boulevard. You can have a bite to eat or just have a nice coffee. There is a small market on Friday and Sunday mornings.

Mont-Canisy is home to the former coastal artillery batteries of the Atlantic Wall. The majority of the site is today a nature reserve but its 250 m long underground gallery is open to the public. Guided tours are possible in summer.

Mont Canisy, like Pointe du Hoc, is an emblematic place of the Second World War in Normandy. Due to its strategic position, it has always been a stronghold over the centuries. In turn seigniorial stronghold in 1793, anti-submarine defense post in 1917, coastal battery between 1935 and 1940, its position facing the port of Le Havre and the Bay of Seine earned it, during the last world conflict, be transformed into a veritable concrete fortress. Today it is a magical place to observe the Atlantic Ocean and the Normandy coast.
