This charming 16th-century village is surrounded by the Marmanu and Sorba forests. The village once marked the end of the long Mare è Monti Livantinu hiking trail. The route now extends to Vivario. Don't miss the Neptune Fountain in the village center.

The Route Forestière 6 was a road in Corsica established in 1854 by the Décret Imperial 1782. It was built to develop one of Corsica's forests for the timber industry. Operated by the state, it had the status of a national road. The F6 branched off from the National Road 198 south of Aléria and led to Vivario. It was 45 kilometers long. It was downgraded in 1973.

This 16th century village is the starting point for bike or walking tours in the forests of Marmanu and Sorba. To see: the sculpture of Neptune in homage to the god of the sea.

The Strette and Inzecca gorges further east come from the Fiurmorbo river. These canyon-shaped gorges stretch for more than 13 kilometers and offer extraordinary landscapes that can be admired while traveling the narrow and winding D344 from Ghisoni.

The Col de Sorba which is one of the main passes in Corsica is a marvel. Whatever side you approach it, it is as pleasant to go up as it is to go down.

In this magnificent Corsican village you find a quite spectacular fountain called Neptune. This original statue was created by the sculptor Vital-Gabriel Dubray (1813-1892) at the request of the Ducel foundry for their commercial catalog. This is why we find the same model in many cities in France as well as in South America, in Rio de Janeiro for example. The fountain was completed in August 1867. With its 1,311 meters of altitude, the Col de Sorba is one of my favorite passes in Southern Corsica. The surface is exceptional, as is the beauty of the landscapes. The descent, whether on one side or another of the pass, provides an unspeakable pleasure. Landscapes of mountains and forests pass by at the right speed, thanks to the winding curves of the road. Be careful though!
