Mühlenstraße enters the village from the north. In the center, it becomes Dorfstraße. Several beautiful buildings, some with thatched roofs, characterize the village center.

The Wegmann Fjord Stud Farm in Süderstapel specializes in breeding and keeping Fjord horses and combines agriculture with riding and holiday accommodation. A striking farm in the village, demonstrating how horse breeding and rural tourism can coexist here. Several older buildings characterize the stud farm.

The Eiderblick House is a striking, white, classically styled building located opposite the church in Stapel/Süderstapel. The two-story, manor-like building is currently used as a vacation home and offers direct views of the Eider River, a private boat dock, and fishing opportunities.

St. Catherine's Church in Stapel is an old fieldstone church, the oldest part of which, the chancel, dates back to the 12th century. The nave, apse, and the striking round west tower followed in the early 13th century. Inside, it impresses with its late Renaissance furnishings: These include a carved altar (1609), a pulpit (1615), and a baptismal font made of blue Belgian marble from the 15th century.

The white, round west tower of St. Catherine's Church in Stapel is a striking feature. This massive tower dates from the early 13th century and is one of the very rare round towers in the Schleswig region. With walls up to 2.5 meters thick in its lower section, it served not only as a church tower but also as a defensive structure and refuge for the inhabitants of the marshland at that time.

The view from the large bathing meadow towards the Eider is therefore very beautiful because the river makes a large bend here, so that one can see far into both arms.

With a length of 108 kilometers, the Eider is the longest river in Schleswig-Holstein. The river is up to 200 meters wide and 25 meters deep and is lined with reed beds and water lily fields. Many rare animal and plant species find a suitable habitat here. From 811 to 1864, the river marked Denmark's southern border, with two short interruptions.
