The Kermisdahl, the old river channel near Kleve, was known in the Middle Ages as "den alde Rijn," and the city wall surrounding Kleve along the waterway was called the "Rheinmauer." "Kermisdael" was initially a field name on the moraine ridge. The name gradually migrated down the hill and eventually came to refer to the body of water. The Kermisdahl is fed by surface water from the ridge and by the drainage ditch "Wetering," which begins near "Haus Horst." Within the city limits, the Kermisdahl changes its name and becomes the navigable Spoy Canal, which flows into the Rhine via the Old Rhine near Schenkenschanz.

The Moyland Castle Museum opened in May 1997. The complex also includes the sculpture park, established in 1997.

The reflection in the water is very nice for beautiful photos.

Beautiful swimming water for the dogs.

A truly magnificent castle. The gardens are definitely not to be missed.
