Historic vineyard house, which for many years served as a "command center" for controlling starling defenses by storing equipment for this purpose. Great view towards Westhofen, as well as a bench and table for resting.

There are a few such loungers on the way to Petersberg; the whole thing is suspended as a swing, which is the icing on the cake; it is very comfortable to sit, lie and swing here and the view is also great.

By Heppenheim, of course, we mean the nearby town of Gau-Heppenheim, not the other Heppenheim on Bergstrasse. For anyone who might have to wait out a downpour, this is the place to be; and there is also a relaxation lounger with a view. The BohnErzWeg, which connects the five communities of Dittelsheim-Heßloch, Framersheim, Gau-Heppenheim, Hochborn and Monzernheim, offers almost no protection along the way.

Lake Eicher is connected to the Rhine, so the lake is surrounded by a holiday resort with weekend homes, many of which have their own private jetty. Several spots offer excellent views of the lake. The terrace of the Kleine Kneipe (small pub) is located directly on the shore and offers cyclists and hikers a great place to take a break. Lake Eicher is not really a swimming spot, however.

Miniature Castle Leckzapfen (1891) - Osthofen 🚴♂️ Tasty or licking, or both? And which tap? The tap or a tattoo? The location is named after the miniature castle "Leckzapfen," built in 1891 by Gustav Friedrich Weißheimer, a landowner and mill owner from Osthofen, which is why it was also called "Gustavsburg" in its early days. The brick and clinker building with a round tower on the side is a true gem – and bears a resemblance to the famous fairytale Lichtenstein Castle. After years of decay, it was lovingly renovated and voted "Rheinhessen's Most Beautiful Vineyard Cottage" in 2011. From its balcony, you can enjoy a magnificent view over Osthofen, the Rhine plain, and the Rhenish-Hessian hills. St. Lambertus Basilica - Bechtheim🚴♂️ Driving through the center of Bechtheim past the market square, this old, historic building is impossible to miss. You can also refill your water supply here...🚴♂️ The 11th-century basilica, dedicated to St. Lambertus of Liège (635-700), was formerly owned by the Augustinian Canons on the Aegidienberg in Liège. Special features of the three-aisled hall church include the choir platform and tunnel crypt (barrel vault), as well as 14th-century wall paintings. In the Middle Ages, it was a pilgrimage church, and from 1684 to 1910, the building was used as a combined church.
