The Barther Oak had a rare fusion of its main trunk and a branch. This created an opening in the tree through which those seeking healing had to pass. A platform was mounted about three meters below the opening, accessible by a ladder. Because of the usually rapid healing, up to 50 crutches were said to have hung in the tree at one time. The oak's healing powers are believed to have faded by the second half of the 19th century. A shepherd had sent his lame dog through the hole, which was reserved for humans. The opening has also shrunk since then. It's easily missed from the path. It doesn't really stand out as a highlight. The path/road conditions are mediocre.

The path is easily navigable and offers a beautiful view of the Bodden lagoon while cycling.

St. Ewald's Church in Bodstedt is a former pilgrimage chapel in the Bodstedt district of the Western Pomeranian municipality of Fuhlendorf. Coming from Prerow, you bypass Zingst here, continuing towards the mainland. The narrow path is challenging. It only gets better once you reach the former railway embankment.

All that remains of the Darß Railway, which connected the Darß and Zingst with the mainland since 1910, brought thousands of tourists to the seaside resorts, and whose tracks were transferred to the Soviet Union as reparations after World War II, are railway embankments and the old Meiningen Bridge, a technical masterpiece built between 1908 and 1912. The bridge has a total length of approximately 470 meters; the final section was a swing bridge measuring 44 meters. It was opened for shipping by means of a rotating movement. Very cool.
