Like the nearby Fauvettes viaduct, the Montjay tunnel once served as the old Paris-Chartres railway line. In the middle of the communal forest of Bures-sur-Yvette, it punctuates the straight and rolling line leading to the viaduct.

At the edge of the woods, this beautiful flat path allows you to lengthen your stride with an open landscape over the fields to the west. If you need a little supply at the end of the summer or at the beginning of the fall, do not hesitate to pick a few blackberries from the shrubs along the path.

The communal forest of Gif-sur-Yvette offers a beautiful setting for running. On wide rolling paths, you are protected from the sun in summer and from the wind in winter. On the edge, you can get pretty views of the Chevreuse valley. Without forgetting other attractions such as small bodies of water or the large laricio pine native to Corsica at a crossroads.

It's hard to believe that you are so close to Paris when you pass through the pretty village of Gometz-le-Châtel. The town stands out in particular for its small ponds typical of Essonne. If you're running through it, slow down to have a look. You may spot the different species of amphibians, birds and mammals that inhabit the grounds.

If crossing the Fauvettes viaduct offers great views, going under it is just as easy on the eyes. Coming from Gometz-le-Châtel, the small single track that leads there offers a pretty open landscape with the bridge in focus. You may even see people climbing its pillars. Indeed, the practice of climbing has been authorized there since the 1970s.
