Great view when you are at the top of the viaduct!

The Christmas market, very well known in the region, is held next to the church and attracts a lot of people, to the point that it is sometimes difficult to get around on weekends in December. But it can also give rise to refueling to warm up your belly 😆

Like the nearby Fauvettes viaduct, the Montjay tunnel once served as the old Paris-Chartres railway line. In the middle of the communal forest of Bures-sur-Yvette, it punctuates the straight and rolling line leading to the viaduct.

If crossing the Fauvettes viaduct offers great views, going under it is just as easy on the eyes. Coming from Gometz-le-Châtel, the small single track that leads there offers a pretty open landscape with the bridge in focus. You may even see people climbing its pillars. Indeed, the practice of climbing has been authorized there since the 1970s.

Disused railway bridge once used to connect Paris to Chartres, it is now open to the public. The views it offers over the Chevreuse valley and the forest of Bures-sur-Yvette are magnificent. Crossing it while running increases the beauty of the landscape tenfold.

This park owes its name to the bourgeois-style building present in the middle of its seven hectares of greenery. It is pleasant to run on its wide paths and along the Vaularon, a charming little stream that crosses it. Its basin also brings a little freshness.
