The trail descends steeply from the main path and ends at the Pas de l'Arc. The Arc is only visible shortly before the end. This detour is not to be missed – it's well worth seeing.

The rock of Hourtous is a small summit on the side of a cliff which culminates at 893 meters. The view of the deep gorges of the Tarn is sublime: it overlooks vertiginous cliffs 500 meters high.
