A picturesque fortified village in the Alpes-Maritimes perched on a hill overlooking the surrounding landscape and the Loup. Great place to start walks in the area!

Village perched on a rocky ridge, from where there is a superb view of the Val du Chanan. The ruins of castles and old fortified houses give it a certain character.

The highest peak for miles around, this ridge line is clearly visible from the beaches of Cannes. From up there, and weather permitting, you can sometimes see the island of Corsica in the distance. In my experience, being at the top for sunrise is the best time to be there.

From this summit (the highest in the area) you can see all the way down the Gorges du Loup and onward towards to the Mediterranean Sea and the beaches of Cannes Bay.

Gréolières is a typical perched village of the Alpes-Maritimes department. It is located on the southern slope of the Cheiron mountain and overlooks the Loup river. The ruins of a fortified castle dominate the old village.
