This hike became dangerous in the last few kilometers before reaching the pass. The path is now sloping for several dozen meters. There is a risk of slipping, especially without poles and mountain dexterity.

At 2,426 meters, the Méale is a summit of the Parpaillon massif which offers beautiful views of the Serre-Ponçon lake in particular. We can see the reservoir extending along its entire length.

The panorama from the Tête de Paneyron is fantastic - on all sides. Great light/shadow effects with a sun-cloud mix. The last approx. 150 meters in altitude, a bit steep and strenuous, but technically not a problem for normal hikers. We did the hike in mid-September and were almost alone.

Risoul is a small ski resort between the national parks of Queyras and Ecrins. Together with Vars, it forms the Forêt Blanche ski resort. The city offers breathtaking views of the valleys and mountains that surround it.

Located at 2,785 meters above sea level, the Tête du Paneyron straddles the departments of Hautes-Alpes and Alpes de Haute-Provence. The summit offers splendid views of the Ecrins at Mercantour.
