A secluded pond in the forest, located on the beautiful forest road from Eschbourg to Frohmuhl. There's only one educational facility here, but otherwise no infrastructure, just plenty of idyllic forest scenery.

Beautifully situated and very well-maintained, it offers seating and bicycle parking. You can also light a votive candle.

Very nice tour departing from Rohrbach lès Bitche. To do when the paths are too wet...but I don't take it during heatwaves because there isn't much forest on the route.💙

A video tells you the story of the creation of the ball of the year. The auction room is right next door, if you want to acquire the latest creation, you will have to be there early enough, they are going like hot cakes. Possibility to buy balls from previous years.

The Pauluskapelle was in the past a place of pilgrimage-walk for the inhabitants of the glass villages of Meisenthal, Montbronn, St Louis les Bitche and Soucht. At the start of the latter village, small oratories hanging from the trees line the path leading to the chapel. We mostly went there on Pentecost and Easter Mondays. A date engraved in the stone of the altar indicates 1866 as the year of construction, which is confirmed by the inscription in French of the names of the 14 auxiliary saints. Each year, the association for the preservation of the chapel organizes the feast of the Pauluskapelle on the 2nd Sunday in June. The profit is intended for humanitarian works.

In 1586 the glassworks of Holbach was moved to the Münzthal. In the course of the Thirty Years War, however, the operation went into operation. 1767 gave King Louis XV. René-Francois Jolly and Pierre-Étienne Ollivier the permission to build at this point a new manufacturing plant, entitled "Royal Glazier" was allowed to lead.  In memory of Louis IX. the company received the suffix "Saint-Louis". Little by little, craftsmen and tradesmen settled around the factory, and workers' housing was built. In 1781, the manufactory of Münzthal-Saint-Louis was the first company on the European mainland to succeed in the manufacture of lead crystal, for which England had previously possessed the monopoly.
