Three small but very impressive rock houses, which were inhabited until 1958.

The small village of Graufthal has a lot to offer. In addition to two churches, the excavation of an abbey, a really nice café-restaurant, there are also these really fascinating rock houses to visit. The entrance fee for adults is €4.

The shelter was probably also used as an ox stable. There is a covered bench there.

The three rock houses, which are located on a sandstone wall, were built on a rocky outcrop. The altitude offered protection from flooding.
