The bathing area is something of an insider tip: A huge, well-maintained lawn opens onto the lake, catching the afternoon/evening sun. A small beach area and a bench are located along the shore. The swimming area features a jetty with great opportunities for splashing around.

The elongated and rather narrow Wardersee lies northeast of Bad Segeberg in the area of the municipalities of Krems II, Pronstorf, Rohlstorf and Wensin (all in the Trave-Land district).

The Wittenborn Heath was a military training area for a long time, so the area was never used intensively for agriculture until 2009. As a result, the soil remained largely nutrient-poor and is now covered with beautiful heathland.
