The town is undergoing a lot of modernization. There's a large Edeka supermarket nearby, but otherwise, there are few shopping options. The market is mostly just a parking lot, so the quality of the place is rather poor.

A very pleasant bike path that's also wide enough. The views of the countryside are beautiful.

Otto Ludwig was born in Eisfeld in 1813. In his honor, a memorial to this great poet, musician, literary theorist, playwright, and Shakespearean scholar was established in the late neoclassical garden house, which was built in 1814 and still stands today.

The school building, dating from 1575, is the second oldest school building in Thuringia. The ground floor is constructed of sandstone with two round-arched portals. A half-timbered upper story was built above it. The stone "school man" on the eastern corner of the "Old School" is interpreted in folklore as a treasure finder and founder of the school building.

Here you'll find the village pond in Bockstadt, which was part of the former castle complex and park. The overflow channel and the old bridge are a small eye-catcher. Overall, it's an idyllic spot with seating.
