Not far from the Eisfeld Castle, in front of which the Otto Ludwig monument created by Otto Lang stands, is the Otto Ludwig Garden, in the middle of which is a garden house with a small memorial for the poet Otto Ludwig. In front of the garden house is a second Otto Ludwig memorial, created by sculptor Karl Röhrig, who was born in Eisfeld in 1886.

Otto Ludwig was born in Eisfeld in 1813. In his honor, a memorial to this great poet, musician, literary theorist, playwright, and Shakespearean scholar was established in the late neoclassical garden house, which was built in 1814 and still stands today.
