Look and linger, simply fantastic

The Church of the Nativity of Our Lady in Fondremand dates from the 15th and 16th centuries and combines Gothic style with Renaissance elements. It is distinguished by its massive bell tower-porch, its ribbed vaults, and its antique furnishings.

In Frondremand, the source of the Romaine River springs at the foot of the village and feeds a covered washhouse dating from the 19th century. Built of stone, this washhouse is a well-preserved example of rural utilitarian architecture. The site, bordered by greenery, marks the beginning of the Romaine River, which flows through the Haute-Saône.

The castle is private property and is only open to the public in the presence of the owners or a member of the association (an appointment can also be made). The rooms are open on Sunday afternoons from mid-April to early October (guided tours at 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. or by appointment) and 4 weeks from July 14 to August 15. Originally built by the architect Pambet in 1831, it was transformed into its current state in 1843 by Renahy and Le Beuffe. The fountain takes its name from the Irish monk Maimboeuf, who was assassinated in Dampierre in January 1843.

The castle is of Renaissance style, built by preserving elements of the fortified house of the XVᵉ century and remodeled in the XVIIIᵉ and the XIXᵉ century.

When I go by electric bike, I like to do this 26 km route from the start of Vesoul and my home, it is quiet without any cars outside the crossroads and on the return it goes down easier, to make the trip more difficult. I come back by the main road off Route Nationale and other
