It is possible to cycle on the beach when it is not too crowded.

The view from the bottom of Castel Vendon is simply breathtaking. Below this ancient fortress, the vastness of the English Channel stretches out before you, framed by steep cliffs and windswept meadows.

Castel Vendon is a rock which has a singular shape. In 1792, a treasure was discovered buried at its foot. It was a terracotta vase containing coins from the High Roman Empire. The rock was painted by Jean-François Millet, a local artist who lived nearby. Part of his work can be seen in the Thomas Henry museum in Cherbourg.

Imposing manor house, made up of ten buildings with three mills and a dovecote, for architecture and history buffs, it is worth the detour!

Querqueville beach is a public, supervised beach with fine sand, a shallow pool for children and the possibility of shore fishing. You can also enjoy a 1.5 hectare green space with a playground, a pétanque court, a volleyball court and a fitness trail. The beach offers stunning views of the coast and the horizon, and you can watch the sunset or sunrise there.

It was rebuilt in the 16th century on older foundations, in a stronghold cited in the 14th century. It consists of ten buildings, including three mills, and a granite and blue stone dovecote with 2,000 balls. Its raison d'être is its positioning on the edge of the old royal path leading to the Hague, where this path moves away from the strike to climb the first cliffs. The legend attributes its name to a warlike episode during which William the Conqueror would have had his life saved by Robert Le Fort who protected him with his shield (it was then said a shield) Source: Wikimanche
