As a symbol of the Matzner Hügel wine-growing region, a four-meter-high, serpentine-green column stands symbolically on a small hill at the intersection of the B 220 and the Matznerstraße in the middle of Raggendorf. The representation of the ceramic surface shows four vines, which are crowned by a sun symbol.

Interesting facts from the history of the late medieval church, which was replaced by a baroque new building in the 18th century: It must once have been a very important building. Located in a strategically favorable high position, it was probably already fortified at the time of the Hussite wars. In the second half of the 15th century, the church festivals here were more important than the local castle. Gamaret Fronauer entrenched himself here in 1460 after he had been invaded by Emperor Friedrich III. declared the feud and successfully resisted the imperial mercenaries under Feldhauptmann Jörg von Kuenring-Seefeld. In 1463 a certain Padmenczgi, who is described in the sources as “a robber from Slavonia”, established himself at this point. He was besieged in vain for 14 weeks by Estate troops under Heinrich von Liechtenstein.
