Located over the Saône River between Verjux and Gergy, the bridge was inaugurated in 1890. This elegant stone structure was financed by Marguerite Boucicaut. Destroyed in 1944, it was rebuilt in 1957 with a metal deck while retaining its original decorative bollards.

Pleasant town at the confluence of the two rivers Doubs and Saône, with a lively farmers market on the central square on Thursdays. The canal du Rhône au Rhin, which follows the Doubs from the Rhine river, already leaves the Doubs a long way earlier and joins the larger Saône some 40 km upstream from here. Likewise, from Saint-Jean-de-Losne to the South the trail follows the canal along the much wider stream of the Saône. The EuroVelo 6 route crosses much larger bridges when weaving between the left and right banks from here on south.
