A fantastic cycling route all around. There's plenty of beautiful scenery and information panels along the way. Several locks are located on the route, and there are plenty of pleasant places to sit. With a bit of luck, you might even spot deer 🦌 in the distance. The ferry landing in Gräpel offers a lovely crossing to the other side. There's lots of information available near the ferry landing, so a visit is highly recommended. There are also great places to sit and a shelter.

This short cycle tour through the Oste countryside is suitable for the whole family. There are excellent bird watching opportunities. A former castle complex is explained in Brobergen. On the route, historic pram ferries cross the river twice. The small pram ferry tour with its nine stations is one of six GPS-supported audio bike tours offered by the Stade Association for the Promotion of Nature Experiences e.V. on the Oste. With your smartphone you always have your Oste-Natur-Navigation and the way in front of you. Professional audio tracks for adults and with explanatory stories for children sound at nine special destinations along the way. Note on signs: The tour is not signposted!

The Brobergen ferry station is located in the district of Stade at the intersection of many cycle paths, for example the Prahmweg from Bremerhaven to Stade, the German ferry route Bremervörde - Kiel and a route of the Lower Saxony Milky Way. The districts of Cuxhaven in the north and Rotenburg in the south are directly adjacent, so that the area is located in the so-called border triangle. The motorized and listed ferry connects the actual village of Brobergen, on the right the Oste, with the Fährkrug, which was built in 1956 on the foundations of the former Hollander Höfe estate, called Höben, on the left the Oste.
