Nemours Castle was built starting in the 12th century. In 1926, the castle was listed as a historic monument in France. It is located on the left bank of the Loing River and near the old bridge, allowing it to serve as a defense for the town and a watchtower for the bridge. Very good bike path, paved most of the way, nicely flat and hard the rest of the time too. Very wild, only a few houses around, very quiet, you can do 100 km on this towpath without leaving it
