Harsefeld's tour guides will gladly take you on a relaxing yet interesting stroll through this "Garden of Europe." The monastery park was completely redesigned in 2006 and, together with the Amtshof, museum, and church, now offers a beautiful setting for concerts, markets, and other events, as well as simply for walking and relaxing. The park in the town center offers beautiful natural surroundings and inviting park benches for relaxation. The paths are accessible and easy to walk. Accessible from Stade or Zeven, the parking lot is located at the monastery park and museum, as well as opposite the shopping center. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 3 pm to 6 pm (3 pm to 5 pm from October to March). On Sundays and public holidays, it is also open from 10 am to 12 pm. In the 1980s, archaeologists unearthed the foundations of the former Benedictine monastery, which was one of the intellectual centers of power in Northern Germany from 1102 to 1647. During the Middle Ages and the early modern period, there were only a few monasteries directly subordinate to the Pope. Harsefeld Monastery was one of them. However, a large part of the monastery complex fell into disrepair in the post-monastic period.

Dante's ice cream parlor is not only a great place to enjoy ice cream in a lovely atmosphere, but also offers breakfast and delicious pizza. The ice cream is still made in-house and beautifully presented. The staff is incredibly friendly and remains calm even when the parlor is packed. Highly recommended.

Harsefeld's St. Mary's and St. Bartholomew's Church shapes the townscape and the surrounding park. Inside our church, you will be captivated by a wonderfully bright space. The renovation in 2014 further emphasized this simple character of the church. However, the greatest treasure of the church is not its architectural features, but rather the people who visit it. It is the people who make it a beautiful place of fellowship. The special quality of churches in general is not simply their architecture, but above all, here in Harsefeld, it is a space filled with prayer for 1000 years.
