The park in the town center offers beautiful nature and park benches for a relaxing break.

The paths are barrier-free and easy to walk. Accessible from Stade or Zeven, the parking lot is located next to the monastery park and museum, as well as across from the shopping center.

The museum is open from
Tuesdays to Sundays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (from October to March from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
On Sundays and public holidays, it is also open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In the 1980s, archaeologists uncovered the foundations of the former Benedictine monastery, which was one of the spiritual centers of power in northern Germany from 1102 to 1647. In the Middle Ages and the early modern period, there were only a few monasteries directly subordinate to the Pope. Harsefeld Monastery was one of them. However, during the post-monastic period, a large part of the monastery complex fell into disrepair.

In addition to the monastery site excavated in 1981-1984, a stroll through the park area around the Rellerbach is worthwhile. Wooden bridges lead to the surrounding streets. Past the town hall it goes into a park to the monastery ponds. An idyll of rest and relaxation in the middle of Harsefeld. Tip for November / December: the Christmas market in the park. Another tip: medieval hustle and bustle in the park.
The Mönchsweg leads through the park. Inform display boards at the church.

Here you'll find the Amtshof (now a library, among other things), the monastery church of St. Mary and St. Bartholomew, the museum, and the idyllic monastery park, whose history dates back to the 9th century. Harsefeld tour guides will be happy to take you on a relaxing yet interesting walk through this "Garden of Europe." The monastery park was completely redesigned in 2006 and, together with the Amtshof, museum, and church, now offers a beautiful backdrop for concerts, markets, and other events, as well as simply for strolling and relaxing. The monastery park was one of the partner projects of the igs 2013 in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region!
