Unfortunately, the summit climb was difficult at the end of May due to the snow-covered Kaiseregg Pass. In spring, with persistent snow, it's only recommended for experienced and/or well-equipped hikers. Crampons and poles were a must for me!

This charming mountain hut is located at an altitude of around 1,700 meters and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The hut is rustic and comfortably furnished, with an inviting atmosphere that immediately conveys a feeling of homely security. Wood-paneled walls, a crackling fireplace and simple but comfortable furniture contribute to the authentic mountain ambience. Here you can relax wonderfully after a strenuous hike and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

The Salzmatt Alpine Hut is open and open from the beginning of June to the end of September. Here you can enjoy a cool drink and a snack while taking in the breathtaking views.

Patraflon is a grassy summit in the Friborg Pre-Alps which dominates the Valsainte Valley. It offers a magnificent view of the Swiss Plateau and the Jura. Its wide and regular slopes make it an ideal destination for running, especially in spring and autumn. You can start from the Pré de l'Essert farm and follow the Essert valley, then climb to the summit of Patraflon via a wooded ridge. You can also extend your route by traversing to the nearby summit of Gros Brun, which requires some climbing on the northwest ridge. Enjoy the landscape and tranquility of this little-known region.
