The Gothic church, built around 1285 to 1290, is dedicated to John the Baptist. It was first mentioned in 1318. According to an inscription on the tower, construction was completed in 1439. Pohnstorf Manor is located in the heart of Mecklenburg Switzerland. Halfway up the Hardtberg, which at 124 m is one of the highest elevations in Mecklenburg, Pohnstorf Manor is one of the highest manor houses in Mecklenburg. In the midst of forest, fields and meadows, with a wide view of the landscape, it is the ideal place to unwind and relax.

The castle tower stands alone and is remarkable for that reason alone. You can walk through it into the small avenue.
