🚗 The hike to the Windegghütte is best started at the valley station of the Triftbahn in Nessental. You can arrive by car or public transport. Parking spaces are available near the valley station. 🚡 From the valley station, the Triftbahn takes you to the mountain station. The trip costs 13.- CHF for a one-way trip. Your hike to the Windegghütte begins from the mountain station. 🚶♂️ The hike to the Windegghütte is challenging and takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. 🏕️ The Windegghütte offers simple but cozy overnight accommodation. A reservation is recommended, especially in high season. 📅 The best time for this hike is from June to October, when the paths are free of snow and easy to walk on.

Start your hike to the Windegghütte SAC with a visit to the spectacular Trift Bridge. This suspension bridge offers impressive views of the Trift Glacier and the Triftsee below. Access to the bridge is via the Triftbahn and a 1.5-hour walk. Route and tips: Triftbahn: Take the cable car from the valley station at Nessental to the mountain station at Underi Trift. Trift Bridge: Hike from the mountain station to the Trift Bridge for about 1.5 hours. Allow enough time for photos and breaks! Ketteliweg to the Windegghütte: After the bridge follows the challenging but well-secured Ketteliweg (about 1 hour ascent). Surefootedness and a head for heights are required here. Windegghütte: After the Ketteliweg you reach the Windegghütte SAC. At an altitude of 1,885 m it offers fantastic views and comfortable overnight accommodation. Further tips: Equipment: Bring sturdy hiking boots, weatherproof clothing and plenty of water. Opening hours: The Triftbahn and the Windegghütte are usually open from mid-June to mid-October. Check the exact opening hours in advance. Reservation: An overnight stay in the Windegghütte should be reserved in advance. Food: Simple but delicious meals are available on site. Snacks and additional drinks are still advisable.
