The surface is quite new and top notch. The landscape is great. However, the route has some pretty steep climbs. You can't do it without an e-bike or fitness equipment.

Nature reserve. Trees and forest as far as the eye can see. Lots of birds singing for your ears. Practically no cars and (2024) top-notch asphalt.

A climb of around 500 metres in altitude that is easy to ride. From Abreschviller to the top of the pass it is a good 20 km, with the first few kilometres being a gentle, barely noticeable climb - but even up there it never gets extremely steep and is always easy to ride. Other plus points: very little traffic, mostly in the shade and often sheltered from the wind. The route runs along the first few kilometres of the (red) Saar. As there are no crossings etc. for over 15 km, you can always ride straight through, i.e. it is also a good comparison route to check your training level.

Coming from Dabo, the climb is a little easier. From Romansviller it is moderate at first, but significantly steeper towards the end.

This beautiful church, made of pink Vosges sandstone and equipped with 3 onion bell towers, was rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century in place of the old church of St Quirin, which dated from the 12th century.
