Former railway line Sonneberg/Stockheim, now serves as a great cycle path 👍🚵👍

The memorial stone commemorates the Neukenroth-West logging road construction project in the Sattelberg, Glasberg and Traindorfer Berg areas. It was successfully completed in 2018. The aim was to improve accessibility to the forest areas by developing the steep slope.

Excellent surface along the entire route. From Föritz to Neuhaus-Schierschnitz, there is good spatial separation from the heavily trafficked B89.

The parish church of St. Catherine in Neukenroth is a true neo-Gothic symphony and of course a testimony of faith. As early as 1335, a chapel was first mentioned in a deed of donation from the Diocese of Bamberg. Today's choir room with the Gothic cross vault was probably built around 1473. The original baroque furnishings were changed in 1897 by redesigning the interior of the church in a neo-Gothic style. In 1988, during another renovation of the interior, the choir arch was again decorated with the medallions of the seven sacraments. The church has thus become a self-contained neo-Gothic ensemble of great artistic value. The center of the high altar is the statue of the church patron St. Katharina. Three magnificent ceiling paintings, still in the original colors of the painting from around 1896, adorn the nave.
