St. Mary's Church in Husum, built between 1829 and 1833 and a masterpiece of classicism in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, is located directly on the market square in the heart of Husum and is protected as a cultural monument.

St. Mary's Church in Husum, along with Vicelin Church in Neumünster, is considered the masterpiece of classicism in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. The church tower, reminiscent of a nautical beacon, provides orientation in everyday life.
St. Mary's Church in Husum was consecrated on July 7, 1833. Where a magnificent, richly decorated Gothic building with a 96-meter-high tower stood until 1807, a clear formal language has prevailed ever since.

Eight columns guide you through the bright nave to an aedicule, a type of portal, in the center of which is the gold-decorated pulpit.

The Husum Marienkirche, built from 1829 to 1833 according to the designs of the Danish state architect Christian Frederik Hansen, is considered one of the main works of classicism in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
The inside of the tower, reminiscent of a maritime beacon, is defined by mighty Doric columns. They are also meant to symbolize the congregation that supports the church.
A portal with ionic columns arches over the altar. The pulpit is adorned with the Corinthian column.
